Or you can go a step further by going to these places with a fake date.  If your ex is there, observe the reactions of your ex.  If the face of your ex displays dismay and he/she leaves the place, then you’re on the right track.

Now, your ex may have been offended because of your fake date.  Your ex might think that there is someone new who has taken his/her place in your heart and life.  Let a common friend convey a message to your ex that you have left your date because he/she is not good enough for you.

While embarking on this quest may not be an assurance that you would eventually get the desires of your heart in the end, be quite realistic and mature in dealing with the situation.
